Little Lambs Information and Policies

SIGNING IN YOUR CHILD

When bringing your child to their class, fill out the class sign in sheet. The teacher will give you a registration card to be filled out during your first visit, before leaving your child in their classroom. This will include all needed information on your child; name, age, allergies, etc. The registration card will be kept on file. Please help us in providing the best child care possible by completing this information. Please pick up your child(ren) promptly after the service. If you are involved in personal ministry at the conclusion of the service, please make arrangements for your child to be picked up by someone else. If a service runs long, your child may be escorted discreetly into the sanctuary by a class helper.

CHANGING DIAPERS

When changing diapers, helpers will use latex gloves and disinfectant swabs provided in the classroom. All toys in the nursery are sanitized after each service and linens are changed.

PROMOTION

Promotion takes place on the first Sunday of each quarter beginning: March, June, September and December. When your child has a birthday during the quarter please wait until the first Sunday of the next quarter to promote your child. Baby dedications are scheduled as needed throughout the year. Contact the church office if interested.

WHAT TO BRING

It is the parents responsibility to bring all items needed to provide the best care for your infant/toddler in a sturdy diaper bag. Please have adequate diapers (only disposable ones), bottles, pacifier, and change of clothes. If you have special instructions regarding the care of your child, please notify the workers when your child is brought in. Please be sure that all items belonging to your child are properly labeled. Please do not bring candy, gum, food or personal toys with them to class as it becomes a distraction for the teacher and the other children.

CHILDREN WHO ARE SICK

Teachers/helpers are not to accept children that are, or appear to be sick into the nursery/preschool classroom. If your child is running a fever, has a runny nose cough, diarrhea or open sores in the last 24 hours, please do not bring them to the classrooms. They will be returned to you in the auditorium if the teacher / helper discovers your child is ill.

DISCIPLINE

Discipline in our Nursery/Preschool classes are done in Christian love. We will only use these 3 steps in disciplining your child: 1) A Warning, 2) Think and Pray Chair, 3) the parents will be notified in the auditorium by an usher if the behavior persists. (The “Think & Prayer Chair” is when the child is briefly sat in the chair, talked with about their behavior, and then prayed with. They are then allowed to rejoin the class.)
